Historical Ride
£15 per head
Celebrating 180 years of Hunting on the Isle of Wight. You are invited to meet at the Cross Country Field, Dunsbury Farm, Brook at 10am. Following a traditional style meet, riders will retrace the route of the very first hunt in 1830, passing through Shorwell before turning towards the coast and ending at Atherfield.
Riders from all disciplines are very much welcome to join this ride although a fit horse is recommended to cover the distance. As this is a celebration of hunting, smart dress would be appreciated - there will be a prize for the Best Period Dress and also for all those riding Side-Saddle. IW Hunt members are invited to wear Traditional Hunt Dress unless competing for the Best Period Dress prize.
There will be people on hand at the finish to hold horses and ferry people back to the start to move lorries/trailers.
